It’s an evergreen tradition! 🎄🎨 Students from John F. Kennedy Elementary recently participated in the annual IMAS Christmas Tree Forest decoration contest. The "Camp North Pole"-themed ornaments were crafted by Kennedy students and the Student Council officers decorated the tree at the IMAS, adding a touch of Tiger magic to the annual exhibit. The tree will be on display throughout the season among RGV elementary schools, middle schools, community groups, businesses and families. 🌟❄ Shown at the event were, in front, from left, Sophia Anguiano, Isabella Soria, Jalylah Villarreal, Emma Ybarra, and Lorraine Ledesma. It’s Science Fair time! 🔬🧲🌟 Students in the third to fifth grade from Kennedy Elementary School showcased their science projects, which were judged on their design, methodology, data and presentation. Along with enriching our students’ knowledge and experience with the scientific method, the Science Fair offered students a chance to share their ideas and methods with classmates and teachers. Attention MISD Families! We are excited to share that Mercedes ISD is rolling out Remind district-wide! If you're not already familiar with Remind, it's a classroom communication tool that makes it easy to stay involved with your child's learning. Remind is free to use, and you'll be able to get and send messages on any device—even a simple text message from your phone! As part of this rollout, official accounts will be created for all the educators & parents at each campus in the coming days. You will be receiving a text message from Remind. All you need to do is follow the steps in the message to finish setting up your account. Also, we've already set the preferred language for you so you can receive messages in your home language. As long as the teacher is receiving replies, you can also send messages back in your preferred language, and they’ll automatically be translated into the teacher’s preferred language.
