Congratulations to the Mercedes Mighty Tiger Percussion for their outstanding achievements at the South Texas Percussion Festival held Friday, May 10 in Port Isabel, Texas.
Ensemble: “Altered Gates” was awarded the title of GRAND CHAMPIONS in the 5A Division and 2nd Place Overall in the competition! They also received the award for “Outstanding Rhythm Section” and a Superior rating.
Ensemble: “Led Zeppelin Medley” earned a trophy for their Superior rating.
Ensemble: “Katsura” received a trophy for their Excellent rating.
Ensemble: “A Spiral Made of Wires” also earned a trophy for their Excellent rating.
Additionally, Mercedes student musicians Olivia Chacon, Olegario de la Cruz, and Noah Diaz were three of ten students selected as Outstanding Performers!
