MERCEDES, Texas – Mercedes ISD is bringing families, educators, and local organizations together for its inaugural Parent & Family Engagement Fair, a district-wide initiative aimed at strengthening collaboration in support of student success.
Set to take place on Thursday, April 17, 2025, the Parent & Family Engagement EGG-Stravaganza, is designed to create a welcoming space where families can connect with schools, explore educational resources, and celebrate the vital role of parent and community involvement in student achievement.
Families attending the fair can expect a wide range of activities, including informational booths from school departments and community partners, performances by Mercedes ISD student groups, and a family-friendly egg hunt, along with food, giveaways, and resource materials to support learning at home.
The Parent & Family Engagement Fair aligns with the district’s ongoing efforts to build strong school-community partnerships and create opportunities for meaningful connection and shared purpose.
“This fair is about more than just resources—it’s about building relationships,” said Dr. Myra Garcia, Mercedes ISD Family and Community Engagement Coordinator. “We want families to feel informed, empowered, and supported as partners in their child’s education.”
