Mercedes Independent School District joins communities nationwide in recognizing September as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. This month serves as a reminder of the courage, resilience, and strength shown by children and families affected by cancer. MISD is committed to honoring these brave students and shining a light on the importance of awareness, support, and compassion.
To help bring attention to this important cause, Mercedes ISD encourages students, staff, and families to wear gold or yellow every Wednesday throughout the month of September. This simple gesture unites our schools and community in a shared message of hope and solidarity. By standing together, we remind children battling cancer that they are never alone and that our community is behind them every step of the way.
