Mercedes Independent School District has been recognized as a Heart Safe District, with all campuses designated as Heart Safe Schools through Project ADAM. This designation reflects the district’s strong commitment to student health, safety, and emergency preparedness.
On December 18, campuses received banners recognizing the work of school nurses and staff who met comprehensive cardiac emergency response standards. These efforts include ensuring AED accessibility, providing staff training, developing emergency response plans, and conducting ongoing drills to support coordinated action during cardiac emergencies.
Mercedes ISD extends its appreciation to the Health Services team and campus staff for their leadership and dedication in helping keep schools safe, prepared, and responsive every day.
