January is School Board Recognition Month, and Mercedes Independent School District proudly recognizes the dedicated service of its Board of Trustees.
Each January, school districts across Texas honor their school board members who volunteer their time and expertise to guide public education. Trustees play a critical role in setting a vision for public education and supporting learning environments that help students succeed now and in the future.
The 2026 School Board Recognition Month theme, “Our Future Is Public,” highlights the vital role public schools play in strengthening communities, developing the future workforce, and supporting the Texas economy. Through their leadership and commitment, Mercedes ISD trustees help shape opportunities for students, staff, and families across the district.
Mercedes ISD extends its sincere appreciation to its Board of Trustees for their service, leadership, and continued dedication to public education!
