Last week, Daniel Sifuentes, an admissions representative from WyoTech in Laramie, Wyoming, visited with the Mercedes High School students who are gearing up for a nine-month program specializing in automotive and diesel technology this July.
Sifuentes shared information about WyoTech’s core and specialty programs designed to prepare students for careers in the automotive industry and also highlighted the unique student life awaiting them in Wyoming. The “Fresh Start, Nourished Heart” event brought our community together at Mercedes High School for a day of health awareness and education. 📚🌱
District departments and area professionals shared free health resources and insights into nutrition, mental health and accessible fitness movements. Javier Flores of Texas A&M Extension also led a cooking class, adding a flavorful touch to the event.

Important Reminder: Mercedes ISD will have a delayed start for classes and morning bus routes due to inclement weather on Wednesday, January 17, 2024. Mercedes ISD staff members are reporting to work at their regular operating hours so will be present to receive students early at campuses. Principals will address planning to receive students for morning drop-off. The District continues to actively monitor the weather forecasted.

Due to inclement weather, all classes and extra curricular events will be cancelled for Tuesday, January 16th, 2024. Classes and work hours are scheduled to resume at their normal start times on Wednesday, January 17, 2024. Updates will be shared through our notification systems, website and social media as Mercedes ISD continues to monitor the weather.
