Middle school students are diving into hands-on STEM learning at this week’s GEAR UP Summer Camp! With support from GEAR UP Region One and guidance from Camp Instructor Carlos Esquivel, students are practicing coding, math, and problem-solving through LEGO kits. 🔧📚 Students are also building college readiness with activities like College Bingo and interactive lessons that provide a college-ready environment. This summer marks the launch of our second GEAR UP grant—Cohort of 2030—as we close out the journey of our 2024 cohort. After a year of dedication and hard work, 160 talented 7th and 8th grade band and orchestra students from Sgt. Manuel Chacon Middle School and Sgt. William G. Harrell Middle Schools recently spent the day at Six Flags, building memories, friendships, and team spirit along the way!
