It is with deep sorrow that Mercedes ISD shares the heartbreaking news of the passing of Mr. Ernest Treviño, a dedicated educator and cherished member of the Mercedes Early College Academy team. As we continue to keep the family of Mr. Ernest Treviño in our thoughts and prayers, we respectfully share the following service arrangements in honor of his life and legacy, along with a message from Superintendent Dr. Benjamin Clinton.

Dear Mercedes Families, Due to severe weather and flooding in the Mid Valley area, Mercedes ISD has canceled classes for Friday, March 28, 2025. MISD staff is also assessing facilities for any damages or flooding from the inclement weather, and repairs will be made accordingly. The District continues to actively monitor the weather and will collaborate with local emergency management officials. The safety and well-being of our students and staff are of paramount importance.
